Payment Terms

To confirm your booking a one third deposit is required. The balance is due 8 weeks before the start of your holiday.

Payment may be made by credit card via our secure on-line service, using the Payment option on the navigation bar. All transactions are payable in UK Sterling.

Cancellation & Refund

Following your reservation and receipt of your deposit, cancellation within 8 weeks of your arrival date will entail both the loss of your deposit and responsibility on your part for payment of the outstanding fee. If your accommodation is re-let for any of the nights that you reserved, then we will be pleased to reimburse you in full for any re-let nights.

Conditions of Rental

Accommodation at Hay Riverside Retreats is let on the understanding that our clients are responsible for their own safety and well-being.

Receipt of your deposit or full fee will be taken as confirmation that you have read and accept the Terms & Conditions detailed on this page.

For clients bringing dogs (or indeed cats), receipt of your deposit is taken as confirmation that you agree and accept the additional conditions detailed below:

Conditions for Clients bringing Dogs

Context

The houses are new, and therefore modern, beautifully furnished town houses in Hay on Wye.  We have just been awarded 5 Star status by Visit Wales.

The kitchen downstairs has an oak panelled floor; the rest of the house has pale fitted carpets; there is white cotton bed linen throughout. There is original artwork and ceramic pieces by local artists in the houses.  Each house has an enclosed decked area that the kitchen opens onto, but there is no area that dogs can use within our property.  We have neighbours on both sides.

We recognise that many dog owners seek to go away for a short break or holiday in top class accommodation and to have their dogs with them. We understand this and want our clients to enjoy what we have to offer. Many holiday accommodations charge a fee for dogs to stay.  We do not wish to do this.  Our focus is on providing stylish and immaculate accommodations for our clients to enjoy with or without their dogs.  If you are thinking of making a reservation, we want you to feel confident that it will work for you.  We are happy to accept bookings from responsible dog owners who know their animals and are realistic about meeting the following conditions:

Conditions

• The person booking Hay Riverside Retreats accommodation make the request concerning their pet(s) in the Message/Special instruction section of the Reservation Request form.
• The person booking fully reimburses the cost of any damage to the property or contents, including marks or stains on carpets or furnishings.
• Clients bring no more than two dogs per property.
• The dog carers ensure that their dog is well behaved and quiet, inside and outside the house.
• Because there are fitted carpets and soft furnishings on the two upper floors, and some clients are allergic to animal hair, dogs are be kept on the ground floor, and clients bring suitable bedding, baskets and bowls for eating and drinking. 
• Owners are expected to clear up dog mess and put it in bins provided around town.  Immediately below Hay Riverside Retreats is a wonderful riverside walk, with woods alongside the path, where there are bins also.
• We live on the banks of the River Wye; and at many times of the year, local paths can be muddy and wet.  Please dry your dog off before coming indoors. The covered car port offers a dry lighted area where you can do this.
